Welcome to St Joseph's School Website
Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers
We have had a very busy start to the Term. Please keep our Year 3 students in your thoughts and prayers as they begin their preparation for the Sacrament of Penance. There is a meeting tonight in the church community centre at 7.00pm. Our thoughts and prayers are with Fr Wally as his mother passed away last week.
Our Year 6 students returned from camp last Friday. From all reports they were outstanding ambassadors for our school and there were many comments on their good behaviour and manners. Well done to our Year Six students. A big thank you to the staff and parents who attended the camp. Your help and support was very much appreciated.
Our Year 3, 5 and 7 students participate in the NAPLAN testing starting next week. Families have been notified and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to see the classroom teacher.
Tomorrow is our athletics carnival and I am sure that our students will participate at a high level and be supportive of all participants whether they are coming first or last. Please note that the cross country will be held in Term 3 in line with the interschool cross country. Many thanks to Kate Western, staff and Doug Carter for organising the day.
We have been notified that a student has tested positive to PARVOVIRUS B19. We have been asked to advise mothers that have been on the school grounds and are in the early stages of pregnancy that they should see their GP for a checkup.
A number of families are dropping students off at school before 8.00am in the morning. A reminder that students should not be on the school grounds prior to 8.20am. Your help in this matter would be much appreciated. A timely reminder, that students are not to play on playground equipment before or after school, due to duty of care issues. The equipment is not supervised during these times and if there is an accident St Joseph’s School is not held responsible.
School Board
There will be a school Board meeting next Wednesday at 6.30pm in the staffroom.
Uniform
This term our students are wearing their winter uniform. Please note that the sports jumper and the woollen jumper are not to be mixed and matched. The sports jumper is worn with the sports uniform only and the woollen one with the formal uniform
Parent Website
A reminder that on our school website is a link for families that will enable them to access the Michael Grosse website that has information regarding parenting of children and student issues. Parents are able to read the information and blog if they wish. To access this all you have to do is go to our school website (www.stjosephbsn.wa.edu.au) then open up the newsletter section .
God Bless
